LISTED TIMES ARE GMT

A Word About Timings

All timings are listed in both Greenwich Mean Time and Eastern Daylight Time. North America and Europe are now on Daylight Time. For those of you who live in other time zones, you will need to make a calculation to derive the time of an event where you live. In North America subtract four (4) hours (from GMT) for the Eastern Time Zone, five (5) hours for the Central Time Zone, and six (6) hours for the Mountain Time Zone. Subtract seven (7) hours for the Pacific Time Zone and eight (8) hours for Alaska, and nine (9) hours for Hawaii. UK, Ireland and Portugal are one (1) hoour ahead of GMT. In most of the rest of Europe add two (2) hours (some Eastern European countries are three (3) hours ahead of GMT). In the Southern Hemisphere, Australia and New Zealand are on Standard Time (Australia is 10 hours ahead of GMT; New Zealand is 12 hours ahead of GMT).

For those in the United States, it is useful to keep in mind that broadcasts in the evening hours often appear in the NEXT day's listings because they occur in the small hours in GMT time, which is our primary reference in the following listings.

For more information on time zone calculations, double click the time display on the lower right of your screen (if you are using a PC) to display the Time Zone tab, then click on the drop-down menu for a full list of time zones and their relationships to Greenwich Mean Time. You may also let the TIME CONVERTER do the calculations for you.

RADIOCRAZY OPERA (24/7/Opera) - Schedule for the day [Important: It's impossible to publish exact time data. Causes: Errors of SHOUTcast, different time zones of the relay servers and/or delays of the master server] [Swissradio Opera is, during summer 2017, temporarily out of service. Init7 has closed the Streamserver business - therefore they've to find a new sponsor for the bandwidth. They have asked the Conservatory in Zurich for another stream on their servers located in their network operating centre]:

Afternoon on 3 - Thursday Opera Matinee: Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia
Afternoon Concert

Georgia Mann presents a concert performance of Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia from this year's Salzburg Festival.
Set in 16th-century Venice and Ferrara, the opera tells the tale of the young nobleman Don Gennaro's encounter with one of the most infamous and deadly women of the Italian Renaissance, Lucrezia Borgia. Premiered at La Scala, Milan on 26th December 1833, and based on a play by Victor Hugo, Donizetti's opera captures the intrigue, passion and jealousy of an aristocratic dynasty tested by the arrival of a young and honest man brought up as the son of a lowly fisherman. Krassimira Stoyanova sings the title role, with Juan Diego Florez as Gennaro, and Ildar Abdrazakov as her husband, Don Alfonso D'Este, Duke of Ferrara. Then it's back to this week's featured orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, for music by Dvorak.
